TX-OU Weekend Recap

What a crazy game. 16-13, Texas.  All that can be said is TGFMD (Thank G-d for Muschamp Defense). [We're (at least) still in 3rd place...]

In lighter news, the brothers had an awesome time in Dallas and will be catching up on sleep over the next couple days. A special thanks to Brother Ray and Family for welcoming the brothers and their dates without tickets to watch the game at their place; and a special thanks to Brother Kellner and Family for opening their home for the post-game party.

We’d also like to thank everyone else who was there to celebrate with us the Longhorn victory.

Have pictures? Send them to Justin Sperling, subject TX-OU Pictures.

Sincerely,
Gamma Deuteron

Parent’s Weekend!

Dear Texas AEPi Parents,

We hope that you will join us the weekend of October 23 – 25, 2009, for our second annual AEPi Parent’s Weekend.

The weekend will begin Friday night with Shabbat Services and Dinner at Texas Hillel. Following dinner, ($5 per person, payable to Texas Hillel at the door), we will head over to a reserved portion of the dining room for a desert reception, so that the brothers and parents can introduce themselves and meet each other.

On Saturday, the festivities will continue with an open house at our current house at 2307 Leon. We will have college football on TV, a light lunch, and we will also be displaying the plans for our new house at 2807 Rio Grande.

Saturday Night we will head to The Salt Lick in Round Rock, where we will be able to enjoy a Brotherhood favorite. They have a semi-private room with a big screen TV, so even if the Texas @ Missouri game is a night game, you won’t have to miss it.

Our final event is a brunch at the hotel on Sunday morning.

The hotel for the weekend is the Embassy Suites Austin – Central. We have received a reduced rate of $109.00/night, if you book before October 10th. Click here to book your room at the special rate.

As many of the events (including kickoff for the football game) are still being finalized, a cost for the weekend has not been set. The weekend cost will include the Friday’s dessert reception and lunch at the house on Saturday.

Please RSVP for the weekend here.

We hope to see you there!

The New House and Upcoming Houston Event:

AEPi Rendering

We are thrilled to announce that the Gamma Deuteron Chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity is going to be building a new house at the University of Texas at Austin. The new house (image above) will be located at 2807 Rio Grande in the West Campus area of the University of Texas. The estimated completion date will be August 2010 – in time for move-in and fall rush. Our fundraising campaign stated in Dallas last month and has had a great response. To that end, we are having an event in Houston.

The Alumni of the Alpha Epsilon Fraternity are hosting a brunch in the “Schmooze Room” of Kenny and Ziggy’s at 2327 Post Oak Blvd. Please mark your calendars, as the event will be held at 10am on Sunday, October 4th. Members of the building committee and fundraising committee will be on hand to share details of the new three story house.

The cost of the brunch will be $30, but we will have seating limited to 65 people, so please RSVP ASAP to Scott Bishop (sabishop@sfs-lp.com or 713.400.8010). Even if you can’t make it, Scott will be able to give you an update, so please give him a call!
